In Italian Migliore means “the best.” And this gourmet boutique is simply the best!

Migliore specializes in ultra premium olive oils and traditional condimento balsamic vinegars from Modena, Italy, that change with the harvests. But that is just the beginning. This exquisite tasting room has quaint finds in every corner. The shop is a unique personal experience.
Owner Debbie Pruneri McKeown treats you like you a special guest at her table. She speaks with passion and from expertise. Sampling is not just encouraged, it is insisted upon. It is important to her that you leave with something special, from her family to yours.
Debbie’s father was a butcher who made his own flavorful sausages. His line of salts are prominently displayed in the center of the shop for your consideration.

Migliore offers fine hand crafted olive oil soaps, a private line of jams, pastas (including gluten free options), sauces, popcorn, risotto rice, skin care related items, and even induction burners.  The windows in this corner store allow light to stream in. The paths outside are lush. The smells of food and sound of light music coupled with featured local art on the walls create an atmosphere like nowhere else.

Migliore hosts several monthly events, including olive oil classes, painting nights, trunk sales, and cooking demonstrations. Perfect for date nights or ladies nights out. I attended the healthful cooking demonstration entitled “Olive It” featuring all olive-centric recipes, highlighting quality items from their treasured inventory. We started with olive and artichoke dip, served with spicy olive oil pasta chips. This was followed by oliva caldo: warm salad of sautéed olives, garlic, sardines, sun-dried tomatoes over kale, with cinnamon vinaigrette. The main course was chicken tapenade en croute: chicken breast, brie and tapenade baked in an olive oil bread crust and drizzled with apricot balsamic chutney.  To drink we were served a water flavored with an infused balsamic vinegar. It was refreshing, addictive, and healthy all at once. As a thoughtful touch, the recipes were emailed to us the next day!

The class is intimate, as space is limited to 20.  A long table was set down the center with table clothes. Chef Kirk Ian Campbell demonstrated easy recipes meant for all skill levels. He was engaging and the flavors were sublime. We were served an entire meal.  The setup is professional with camera and large monitor. Not pretentious: simply real food served with quality flavors. This is not cooking out of the box.
