Smokey Canyon BBQ – By: Tracy Smith
Pam and Dan Nusser are fascinated with BBQ. After deciding to open Smokey Canyon BBQ they took a trip to the BBQ belt across the US visiting BBQ places large and small.
The family run restaurant reflects both Dan’s upbringing in the hills of Missouri as well as Pam’s family recipes, the influence of their travels, and their combined culinary passion. As the name implies, the menu is focused on BBQ but they offer an eclectic assortment including pancakes, biscuits and gravy on the weekends and a substantial selection of salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers and seasonal specials so there is something for every taste.
You can also enjoy wines and local craft beers on tap and of course southern sweet tea. The newly remodeled patio, complete with shade sails and festive lighting is the perfect space to eat outside. It also can be reserved for private parties of up to 32. It is ideal for business meeting, showers holiday parties or special birthdays.
With Smokey Canyon BB/q you can order food to cater meetings and holiday parties with ease. They offer simple family size meals you can pick up hot and ready or they can cater large events down to every detail including set up, serving, and clean up. No job is too big or too small. Pricing can be found on their website.
Desserts carry their own flair here. They are even featured at some Whole Foods and Jenson’s bakeries for the most discerning tastes. For the holidays you can pre-order your choice special dessert; blackberry cobbler, pumpkin crunch, peach cobbler, bread pudding, or cookies and brownies. Just tell them how many you are feeding and they will make you it beautiful for you.
Smokey Canyon has been a staple in this community for nine years and the smell of gentle smoke and BBQ wafts through this center beckoning us and who doesn’t love BBQ?!
